and attachments. Any BALUN installed out-of-doors is subject to harsh
weather, hard driving rain, and heavy winds. These conditions can allow
moisture to develop inside a BALUN when the connections are not sealed.
We use solid brass terminal posts or plated screws to enable good RF, electrical, and
mechanical connections between the BALUN terminal posts, and the antenna wire.
Our BALUNS employ both, and/or Ferrite and powdered Iron cores. Unless otherwise stated, our BALUNS
are Current type and all www.PacketRadio.com. BALUNS are made in the USA.
Ring terminals are silver plated bronze to prevent oxidation caused by dissimilar metal contact.
We made the antenna screw connection at right angles to make antenna screws easy to tighten
without turning the solid brass terminal. All terminal posts and connectors are installed with tin plated
lock-washers between each metal or case contact surface. By using tin-plated lock-washers, we further
provide better metal to metal contact for better RF transfer of energy to the antenna.
Be sure to seal all terminals with Coax Seal Cat # CS 104.
